I have 22 eager third graders who love to earn. They attend a suburban public elementary school in Kansas. Their minds are like sponges, always ready to absorb any new found knowledge they can get. With given the proper resources, they can become their own experts on solar energy. The third grade curriculum requires the students to explore the effects of the sun. The students are expected to do this through videos and textbooks. In knowing that my students love technology and anything engaging, I know that they would much rather build inquiry and discoveries through solar energy experiments. In addition, the students will be able to incorporate 21st century technology by recording their findings and conclusions through podcasts and digital storytelling.
