As an artist, it is super important that you know how to market yourself. With the cameras, students will be able to take Head Shots and Action Shots for their resumes. They will also be able to actively participant in a Dance for the Camera/ Dance Film lesson that allows the students to Direct, Perform, and Edit their own choreography. Throughout the school year, students will be able to document their school performances, mini projects, and solos to create a dance reel. This dance reel is not only important for student data but it also helps them visually document their growth as an artist. We currently do not have any technological devices in the dance room for the scholars. Once the scholars have the cameras to utilize, they will then be able to create a website/digital folder to keep with them for any future professional auditions. A smart dancer is a working dancer and I want to ensure that my students have a competitive edge.
