Currently my students are fighting over which plastic, blue, old school chair to sit on. Giving my students different choices for how they will complete assignments will give them more control over their learning. Flexible seating will take my students out of the "traditional" way to learn and take them into a realm of increased engagement and adventure. Having wobble chairs at circle table will increase my students' enjoyment to write reading responses in their journals. Having balance balls at our guided reading table will increase blood flow to help students explain details of stories. Flexible seating does not only give my students different learning environments and opportunites, but will also increase their enjoyment and decrease distractions.
