My students are English Language Learners and need modified methods of learning. According to the National Association for the Education of Young Children, board games have been found to enhance children's academic skills and brain power. The board games will teach my students to follow rules, focus, take turns, defer gratification which helps with self regulation, the process of problem solving and thinking creatively. All of my students will receive lessons in decision making, consequences, and strategic thinking. The Time and Money Board Game is needed to increase my students' mastery of identifying coins to be able to purchase items. This game will also increase their practice identifying the time which is needed as a life-long skill.
