I teach primarily Hispanic, low income students. All the students that I teach have some type of special need. Many have moved around schools and have made it to middle school with minimal instruction and skills. I attempt to teach my students general education content curriculum with hands on visual approaches. This way, my special education students can feel connected to their typical functioning peers. My students are eager to learn, however often times negative attention seeking behaviors make them seem as "bad kids." I truly feel that they want to learn and feel successful, however they need to be presented with the opportunity to do so.
