These books will continue to enhance the print-rich classroom that I strive to create. My classroom library is a place that my students really enjoy-I read on the carpet to them, they complete work there, and they read independently! Students will be able to choose books, which will help them continue to enjoy independent reading time. Since most of our books were destroyed with Hurricane Harvey I am striving to replenish books that will enhance my students reading level. Also, as a second year teacher my resources are very limited. These resources will help my students become better readers and writers this year. The third grade bundle from lakeshore learning will be used during instruction as well as a supplemental tool for small group and independent work. This bundle has so many great resources geared toward the STAAR test and everyday learning. The I Survived Series and American History Paperback Library will be used to have a Book Tasting in our class. Book Tasting are a great way to have fun and get students involved all while learning and reading. There are many resources being asked for in this project but know that they will all ensure the students best learning and give them a desire for knowledge. Almost 3/4 of our students come from low income households and are unable to purchase basic school supplies that they need for learning. These resources will help them get back to normalcy.
