Right now, we have many old and broken ukuleles, and not enough of these even for the whole class. This means that some students sit out and have to switch watching/playing with their stand partner. The sound quality of the usable ukuleles is not great. Having this project funded would allow for a more complete and fulfilling musical experience. The students would be able to better understand the sound of the different chords. They would also have a more consistent experience, being able to play more frequently. When you have a quality instrument you can rely on, you experience more confidence when playing. Confidence also grows when you successfully share your knowledge with others. Funding this project would mean that the students could perform with confidence, thereby growing their own personal confidence.
