Most of my students do not have Legos or building sets at home. They lack experience using their creative side and need to explore ways to enhance their problem solving skills. With kindergarten being so academically focused in the last several years, I feel it is important to bring building and exploration time back to the classroom. This is difficult for children these days since we live in such a two-dimensional world with tablets and smart phones! Enthusiasm is the STEAM that Drives the Engine! ~Napoleon Hill Since they are a STEAM class, we participate in weekly challenges that focus on science, technology, engineering, art and math. These items would greatly enhance these challenges and give them the foundation of building and problem solving that they so desperately need in order to thrive in all areas of their education!
