Teaching a foreign language using Comprehensible Input (CI) is based on how we all learned our first language; through listening to our families speak, hearing songs, and reading books. Hearing and seeing Spanish in this manner is known as INPUT, and (based on current foreign language acquisition research) I believe that this method is the best way for students to acquire the Spanish language. My students need interesting, comprehensible choices to read to increase their Spanish language input! Having novels like Fiesta Fatal, Capibara Con Botas, and El Escape Cubano will give students more options in genre and reading level.
