The current easel in our classroom is extremely old. Its wooden frame is splintering and it no longer holds big pads of chart paper. It is not magnetic and does not have wheels which makes it very difficult to move around the classroom for flexible activities. We will use our new easel for various activities. Being able to hang chart paper will be beneficial for our shared writing activities; a student favorite because they get to "share the pen" and come to the easel to write. The ledge of the new easel will allow big books to rest on it for shared reading. The magnetized board will be great for word work and math activities. The organizational bins will allow for materials to be easily accessed during activities, and being able to easily move the easel will help when moving activities to various parts of the classroom. Finally, what's an easel without chart paper? The chart paper will also be used for interactive writing and for interactive anchor charts which will be displayed throughout the classroom.
