For the last two years, I have been teaching students to knit and crochet as part of our Montessori "Work of the Hand." My hope is to get enough of a supply of yarn that we will be able to create Care Blankets and Shawls as part of a community outreach project for seniors and homeless in our area. An amazing sense of calm and accomplishment comes over these 9-11 year-olds as they master a stitch and create projects. This project will allow our classroom to create items to give back to people within our community and inspire them to find new ways to give back.

About my class
