I am a first year teacher in a high needs district. Coming into my classroom, I find it empty of supplies, materials, organizational tools, and the basic supplies that my students and I will need. My students are all in need of intervention to bring their ELA skills to grade level, and I am shockingly short of what I want to enable them. The largest expenses fall to the need for notebooks and utensils that my students mostly cannot afford. I also require organizational materials for the running of the classroom. The portable white board is for showing my objectives and agendas for classes, and the sorters are for students work to turn in and hand back. I am honestly surprised at the lack of resources present at the start and hope that, with help, we can have a safe and engaging classroom environment.
