My students are the typical Fifth grade student, just beginning to be interested in science. Our school is a rural public school in the South. Although the community is relatively small, the district covers a large area serving over 200 students in the Fifth Grade alone. Many of my students come from single parent homes with low socioeconomic backgrounds making it difficult to obtain funds to provide hands-on activities for my students.
