Research shows that students who have access to high quality literature have larger vocabularies, score higher on standardized tests, and have higher high school graduation rates. Book sets such as Harry Potter, and Diary of a Wimpy Kid are fun for students to read, and encourage students to continue to the next book in the series. Enhancing our classroom library with fictional literature, as well as non-fiction book sets will encourage students to have a love for reading! During each school day, students will spend individual time reading. Having access to grade level texts will facilitate student success with reading. These books will be able to be checked out by students and read in the class during our reading block.
