I'm starting this project to give my students several options to choose their learning spaces. Adjustable stools, standing desks, kneeling pads and chairs that emphasize movement are some alternative seating examples students will be able to utilize during the school day. Flexible seating offers students the opportunity to wiggle while they work and further promotes productivity. During independent work times students are able to choose a space or seat where they will be comfortable and focused. Allowing students this choice promotes independence and encourages them to choose alternative seating that will best suit their needs. I've watched how successful my peers' classrooms have been after implementing flexible seating and I'm so excited to see how my students are positively affected by these additional options!
