Students are apt to read more when they are comfortable; it makes them feel more relaxed and less rigid. I have been able to witness students come to class excited when they realize they get silent reading time on the carpet. I only had 2 bean bags last year because the good quality ones are expensive so I has to do rotations. I feel that by having more in the classroom, then more students will get the chance to use them. Flexible seating also gives them choices, which is important to students. Not only do they get to choose ther books they want to read but they have a cozy, safe space to do it.
