As the science instructional coach for my elementary campus, one of my main goals these next few years is to build a science lab equiped for hands on learning inside and outside of the school. Too often enough we don't have enough science tools for every teacher to conduct those hands on investigations that lead to deeper comprehension. I don't want my kids to learn about science. I want them to EXPERIENCE science. The materials requested in my next few projects will be focused mostly in the area of life and Earth science. Our data is showing that as areas of weakness across grade levels and I want to support that with real life investigations and better models. Obtaining more resources challenges me, in that I get a chance to be creative and design engaging lessons around these resources.
