These materials will make a difference by ensuring that learning through play will happen. Studies have shown that a large number of students do not participate on traditional playground equipment and the peaceful playground encourages participation, fun and interaction between all. Two summers ago a dedicated group of students signed up for a summer STEAM camp. They designed, measured, and painted the blacktop to transform a boring bus loop into a fun and inviting peaceful playground. With a few new additions like hoops, bean bags, and ladder ball the students will be even more excited to get outside. The new additions and a refresh of what we had will make a difference to the students by facilitating learning through play!
