All students deserve to keep their sense of wonder about learning. Read alouds, book talks, and the love of picture books doesn't stop in elementary school! Curiosity, inquiry, imagination, real life connections and relevance are what keeps students engaged in the classroom. Learning can be a joy, particularly when books are used. I believe that books are the "magical" tool for students, teachers and families to use in order to help students flourish - ALL types of books! As a middle school Language Arts teacher, it is my responsibility and honor to cultivate readers for life. This is why it is so important to have a classroom library full of books from all genres and all levels. There is nothing more exciting than seeing your middle schoolers all over the classroom captivated by a new story, a new favorite book discovery, or perhaps a new love for reading! This is what keeps my passion alive as an educator. This is what gives me hope for our future.
