For many of the students walking through my door, my classroom is their first encounter with a school setting. For my previous group of students, their favorite part of the day was literacy centers. These materials will engage students in daily, hands-on learning with literacy skills that are crucial to their success in school. The materials from my project will be used with small groups of my students during our literacy centers. Students will participate in centers that are engaging while working on important literacy skills. This project will provide me with the necessary materials to create differentiated and individualized centers for the many ability levels in my incoming group of students.
