Students will be able to listen to reading at their own rate. They can relisten to clarify words they don’t know. Listening to reading will build their word bank knowledge and vocabulary. They need headphones to use with their devices so they can all be listening to different books at the same time. The headphones will help their word bank knowledge and fluency. More gaps can be closed with students who don’t have a family member to read with them if these kiddos are able to listen to reading using the headphones. Ultimately, having headsets for each student will improve how many words the children are being exposed to daily which directly correlates to reading proficiency.
