We need poly markers and rubber balls to increase their physical fitness during PE instruction. These materials will be utilized to engage students in a variety of games. Activities that are designed are intended to be cross-curricular and interdisciplinary. Students will learn that they encounter materials from their core subjects throughout the day and their learning should transcend the boundaries of their classroom in all aspects of their life. Learning in PE transcends all subjects. The balls and numbers are in a variety of colors to reinforce their spatial awareness. Kinesthetic activities allow for students to move. Students learn the benefit of fair play as well as working together to reach shared or common goals. Team sports are a part of the scope and sequence curriculum. The balls will be used to teach various skills such as kicking, catching, and dribbling. For example, when teaching the students about soccer, the students will be taught how to dribble around cones or dribble a ball when they are playing basketball. The poly spots help to designate areas on the floor for spatial awareness. However, these resources can reinforce what is being taught in the classroom. For example, the markers or spots can be used teach odd and ever numbers. When I am teaching the students how to dribble a ball, I may ask them to bounce the ball on all even numbers to make it more engaging and fun. The rubber balls can be you used to teach prepositional phrases such as up and over. Having these resources will be so beneficial and allow my students to stay engaged not only in PE, but to be successful in the classroom.
