I envision Osmo being used during literacy workstation and math focus time in my classrooom. Students use this part of the day to hone in and independently practice skills that will build their academic confidence and knowledge. The Osmo attaches to an iPad and projects the screen onto a mat in front of the student where it creates an interactive learning environment. Students can use Osmo independently or collaboratively. Osmo provides students a hands-on learning experience with immediate feedback. Our classroom has been blessed with several iPads that will work as the portal to this technology. The Osmo will enhace our current devices through the use of several different smart games. Osmo includes a phonics activity where students can interactively practice letter sounds and words. This will greatly assist beginning readers and the many ESL learners in my classroom. The numbers activity will allow students of all levels to gain proficiency in numbers and operations. Tangrams will help exercise their spacial and visual problem-solving skills through creative thinking. Osmo will my help students advance as 21st century learners.
