Kids love to have choices! In school, they are not given too many, so I am looking to make a change in my class. They can choose where they sit, but now I want to give them a choice of what they can sit on! The wobble seats are so effective for allowing the students who need to move, keep moving. The items I have selected will give so many options. This gives the students the feeling of taking ownership of their learning by making effective seating choices. The seating choices will be a great motivation for students to be on task. I am requesting stadium seat recliners, stack stools, and whiteboard/clipboards. We also need markers. Just allowing students to sit at any desk has kept students working and focused. So when I add in new types of seating choices for those who can choose their best learning spot, I am sure I will see a rise in classroom participation, listening and completed work.
