Tracks will enhance students' learning experience by following the same characters they've been reading in short stories by the same author. Students have watched short documentaries from the BBC about the reality of the Native American experience and have been able to relate it to not only their own lives, but the lives of the characters in the short story. These novels are integral for students' connection to the Native American experience by strategically teaching the same time period that coincides with what they are learning in history class. With this collaboration, they will get different perspectives on the English settlers. Students will continue to follow characters they've already been introduced to, except from a historical perspective, which introduces students to the family history and the genocide natives experienced when the English first came to America.
