My students live in an area that isn't very diverse so I want to expose my 4th-grade students to the diversity in the world and teach them tolerance of others who may not look, act or think the way they do. One of the best ways to teach tolerance and diversity is through good books that provoke thoughtful conversation. These books will help open their eyes and minds to the world around them. I want my students to see that everyone has value no matter their skin color, race, religion, beliefs, clothing, homes, language, culture, or disability.
