Flexible seating seating options and a classroom library, rich in a variety of genres increase student choice and a learned love of literature. Offering students choices in terms of seating options is empowering. We currently have limited seating options in our classroom, and adding more would be a welcome addition to our learning environment. The books that I've asked for were chosen BY MY STUDENTS, many of which are current Bluebonnet nominees. If a student reads a total of 5 Bluebonnet award nominated books, he/she has the opportunity to participate in a special luncheon and has an opportunity to vote on the winning title! I'd like to give every one of my students the opportunity participate in this special event. Privacy screens offer students a calming, almost cocoon-like environment during test taking, which can often times be anxiety provoking. Additionally, essential oils help to create the calming environment that I'm striving to create.
