The group of students using the library for special support through the MSQI program already love reading but need sustained instruction to improve their literacy skills. A class set of a fun, relatable, at-level book that the entire community can share will enhance these skills without infringing on the fun and joy reading offers. With this class set of Tapper Twins Go to War (With Each Other), we will be able to share in a communal, scholarly experience that improves fluency, comprehension, grit, and critical thinking. A whole-class read can be scaffolded for the least to most adept and allows students to build on each others' strengths. Ultimately, from sharing in this reading together, the rest of the library becomes more accessible to these students--a portal to growth and inspiration.
