My students experience art through hands-on learning. Such a high level of poverty and homelessness in our area means many students and families are hungry. We want to use our pottery to create an outreach for serving food and raising funds to help our community. This program gives students the opportunity to do what they never knew they could. Having pottery wheels allow my students to create with more works in greater volume and give more students in such large classes an opportunity to learn. We are a small school system with a huge creative heart and desire to learn. These students have never had this kind of opportunity before and are passionate about the arts. Through art, we are creating a rich culture of expression and pride at LCHS. Art connects our students, staff and community and tells our personal story.
