In our classroom we use our computers in small groups for many different online programs. These programs sharpen skills in reading, math, science and problem solving. The best way individualized learning can take place with online programs is if each student has headphones so they can interact with the program and be focused. Headphones keep the students focused on the task at hand, and others around them focused too. All of the online programs, such as Freckle, Mobymax and Raz-kids have assessments that are used to individualize the learning or I can pick assignments that are geared specifically to the student's needs. Having headphones for our computers will help my students learn and grow at their independent levels.
