Listening to stories is one of the greatest joys of being a child. The books I have chosen for this list were all chosen for a specific reason; these books all teach a lesson or show how the characters overcome an obstacle. Children need something to grab their attention, entertaining and funny books are the best way to do that. Stories are valuable asset in teaching children valuable lessons from sharing to having self confidence, without them realizing that they are learning. Seeing a character in a story overcome an obstacle shows students, "Wow, if they can do that, so can I." Books and stories are an extremely influential part of early education and fostering a love of reading.
