Every single student I have in my Special Education classes has goals in independent living, including cooking and budgeting. While teaching my students how to cook for themselves is the primary goal, I can also connect the culinary studies to our lessons in History and English. Imagine making corn bread as we read Huckleberry Finn. Envision making French baguettes as we study about the French Revolution. Can you even believe the amazing experience of a class cooking and dining together as a learning family? What if these students could even make a class business out of this? Selling food for donations to our school's non-profit organization. Help me make this dream a reality for my students.

About my class
