"Out of My Mind" is a story of eleven year old Melody, a student with cerebral palsy, who takes on the challenge of being "normal." It is a journey of self understanding and empathy with so many teachable moments. Melody is a tribute to disabled kids who struggle, those who are misunderstood, the people who look away, who pretend they don't exist or don't know what to say when they encounter someone so different. Help put this book in my students hands, creating engaged readers! Students can follow along in the book, tracking with their eyes and absorbing more material then through simply listening.
