Flexible seating will help give my students an option for how they learn at their best. Right now in my classroom, most students choose to sit on the floor, stand and work at their desk, or sit in a few lap desks I have purchased. If I had this flexible seating option it not only would give students more choices, but it would also give the students that do not like to sit on the carpet a comfier choice. My classroom is a student-centered classroom for learning and I cannot think of a better way to emphasize student-centered than to give them options and make learning the most engaging experience possible! I have seen only positives from giving students different options on seating and how they want to learn. They are more engaged, less likely to distract others, and are more eager to participate in class discussions and lessons! I am confident that the table and chairs I chose will help my students that get distracted easily be more engaged and on task!
