We are creating a sensory room for kids who have sensory difficulties, diagnoses like ADHD, trauma, autism, etc. This room will be a safe space for students to come rest, refocus, regather themselves in order to return to their learning environment. Kids don't often have a positive space to refocus, which typically results in behaviors and disruptions. This room will be a preventative measure in helping the students to be successful on their learning journey. We have a population of children that have been through numerous trauma triggers and have a difficult time learning in a general ed room. This sensory room will help to alleviate their needs in a safe and quick fashion.
