My students love singing games that involve movement. Our current hard, cold concrete floor does not create a safe or inviting space to play in. A large rug will allow for my students to move comfortably. The students will not have to worry about tripping over the corner of smaller rugs or carpet squares during games. Sitting in a circle on the floor is vital to many music games and activities. Having a rug large enough to seat 25 students will allow my students to learn without the distraction of uncomfortable seating. All students will be able to sit on the carpet during circle games.
