Research shows that reading is the single best way to improve a child's academic skills. As you can imagine, convincing young teenagers to read can be a challenge. Having books available that my students find interesting is the key to getting even the most resistant readers to become lost in the world of books. All the book titles I have asked for in this project have been specifically requested by our students. Mustangs who read, succeed! At my school, we encourage students to carry an independent reading book at all times. In reality, not all students bring books to class because some of them cannot obtain reading materials outside of the school building. Supporting this project for my classroom will ensure that I can provide my students with engaging and challenging reading materials!
