The love of literature is such an important thing to model and share with students. Within our classroom my goal is to get everyone excited about reading and give them many options to choose from when searching for a new book. Reading is the foundation for all other subjects and exposing students to books they can individually choose will help promote a love of reading. Requested titles include Fish in a Tree, Becoming Naomi Leon, Judy Moody Saves the World!, The Hobbit, The Tiger Rising, The Indian in the Cupboard, Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children, Because of Mr. Terupt, The Giver, Percy Jackson and the Olympians, Book One: The Lightning Thief, Tuck Everlasting, Wonder, A Wrinkle in Time, and Harry Potter and The Chamber of Secrets. As a first year teacher I am currently trying to grow my classroom library. This project will allow students access to many more books within the classroom. Watching a child's eyes light up when they are excited about what they are reading is the ultimate gift!
