As an EL and Interventionist teacher, I work with small groups in my classroom. Each year, I service different grade levels throughout the day. I currently have yoga balls and discs for students to choose. Adding the tractor chairs (along with the fidgets) gives additional choices for meeting the sensory input needs of my students leading to better engagement, focus and participation. We use a lot of sticky notes and dry erase markers for both math and reading lessons. We use the notes to mark places in our reading, generate ideas to add to graphic organizers, write down questions, share our thinking, etc. For struggling students, I find that color is best for meeting their learning needs rather than black and white. Using the plastic sheet protectors saves on printing costs. I do not need to print on card stock and the paper can be used over and over again. We can use the dry erase markers on the plastic sheet protectors.
