In a day and time when there is excessive emphasis on test scores, it is essential to allow students the opportunity to express themselves creatively. Whether they realize it or not, all students have creative ability and will prosper when given the appropriate materials to use. My students will get radiant results with the Prismacolor markers and color pencils when paired with Artway studio drawing papers. Students will be inspired by their work and will gain a sense of pride in their abilities. They will have opportunities to create using different mediums from color pencils to oil pastels. They will learn how to use different tools to achieve varied effects. Creating with art encourages students to use analytical skills, accept and learn from mistakes, and be constructive critics of their own work. I am excited to see the opportunities and creations my students will gain this year in their first ever art class!
