As my older keyboards stop working, I have students who are not be able to play their own instrument in class. Having enough instruments for each student to play at the same time means we can maximize our learning time and learn more music on piano. I just lost two pianos yesterday. They lost their electronic minds and started making random sounds when no keys were pressed! My students are eager to play piano themselves and appreciate not having to share an instrument with another student. They enjoy being able to use the skill of music reading to produce music in different ways. While all of my students get an introduction to piano each year, my fifth graders get an in-depth look at pianos during their year with me. They love learning to play an instrument that they know they will encounter throughout their lives.
