My project can be split into a few parts, all of which contribute to a smooth running classroom. There are sticky pads and chart markers to accompany them, basic supplies such as whiteboard markers and pencils, and 2 calculators. I am excited to use large sticky pads daily in my classroom. We will use them in multiple ways. For example, at the end of each lesson, students will add to their hour's chart with their "main takeaway" of the lesson. We will anchor them around the room. I believe that student voices are just as important in math as they are in any other class, and these charts will provide students with a student centered refresher of our topics and proof that I am far from the only person in the room who knows her math :) I also put hundreds of pencils and a pencil sharpener in my cart. These are self-explanatory for the most part, but I also put in reward pencils. Reward pencils may seem elementary, but I love giving them out to my students, and they are part of my plan to foster a weird, funny culture in my room. Lastly 2 calculators! They are pink! I have already ordered 8 and they are gonna say "Perla" on them and they are MINE! Gone will be the days that I have to have students share calculators during quizzes and tests. As I enter my third year of teaching, kids are gonna find it doggone near impossible to share answers during a test :)
