The goal of Project H.O.P.E. is to be a beacon of hope for not only the Homeless of Nashville but to the Senior Citizens/Elderly and those suffering from a Natural Disaster in Nashville, TN or surrounding areas. Project H.O.P.E. was created to let them know that there are people in the world that still love and care for them, by random acts of kindness. According to a 2011 study on the state of homelessness in America by the National Alliance to End Homelessness, Nashville is ranked 40th out of the 100 highest populated metro areas in America in terms of their homeless population, and 59th in terms of rate of homelessness. On any given night the homeless population in Metropolitan Nashville can range from 3,000 to 4,000, as can best be determined by the Metropolitan Homeless Commission. This number is assumed to be an underestimation. With your support of this request, we can both increase the donations of items per Homeless Individual, Family in need and might even be able to bless more people in the 37208/37209 area code that have been affected by the March 2020 tornado and are still recovering. The items can be as small as wipes, hand sanitizers, toothbrushes, toothpaste, soap, body wash, chargers, bottle waters, deodorant, comb/brush, feminine hygiene products, non-perishable food items, etc. Anything you can give helps! At PCHS we have what is known as the 37208 Project. We do PBL's with our students about Mental Health, Drug, and Substance Abuse, Domestic Violence, and how they can lead to Incarceration and or Homelessness. Perception is everything, just because someone doesn't look like you or have the same life you live..... doesn't mean they aren't human but it could have been someone you know on the corner.
