As an English teacher, I like to relate my students' learning processes to their real lives. I also feel that students learn more from the material when it focuses on a topic that interests them. Students are noticeably more engaged in the textual analysis when the book focuses on a topic and protagonist that is similar to themselves. Therefore, I want to encourage students to grow their literary comprehension skills through a book that I feel that they can specifically relate to. The Crossover is one such book and its addition to my classroom will allow students to connect to the ​complex literature on a personal level.

About my class
