We know students learn vocabulary through use, not through vocabulary lists. Thus students need to be reading, a lot! The problem? I have no simple, understandable books in Spanish! With these novice level books, I will build my Spanish classroom library! Our public library and school library have few books in Spanish, but our students will not learn to read without actually reading. I have chosen books that are high interest and comprehensible for my students. I want them to pick up books that give them pleasure and build their confidence in the language. This grant will enable me to provide them a variety of choices to help their language skills grow.
