Reading is a vital part of our lives and getting a student engaged in reading can be difficult, if they haven't found the right type of book. Having different genres in the classroom provides students an option when choosing a book. Requested titles include best-sellers like Who Was Marie Curie? Where is the Great Barrier Reef?, Wonder, Hatchet, A Wrinkle in Time, and Sisters in addition to dozens more. This project will allow me to enrich our classroom library with quality books of different genres. Students could then take Accelerated Reader quizzes which will boost their reading comprehension skills. This will set them up for success in other areas of learning and better prepare them for state testing as well as high school and beyond.
