I am the only full time teacher in my elementary school who doesn't have a Smart Board in their classroom. Except my classroom is a gym and I see 60-70 children at a time! I enjoy showing my students demonstration of skills they are learning in PE, health lessons, dancing with my littles to videos, and making presentations to my children about sports and other ways to be active and safe in their community. In my current situation, showing something visually on a screen is a challenge. I have to use my iPad to pull up videos and walk around to show my 75 students what is on the screen. They can't hear it and they can barely see it. I would like to show more presentations about health and movement, but right now it's not working. My gym is a loud environment and having a large screen will assist our special education students in staying on track and will let them know when transitions are coming. I would also like an easy way to assess my students' growth and understanding without using pen and paper because it takes too much time with my large class sizes. Plicker cards will allow that to happen and also use technology in the gym. Thank you for considering my students and me.
