Each year, I see my students read great books. Most are the new, popular nonfiction books. While I love seeing my students fall in love with great text, I want them to see and know there are more than just books!! Reading and learning can be done through books, magazines, brochures, comics, you name it! Through this project, I hope to foster knowledge, awareness, a love of nonfiction text, and open mindedness. Through these Scholastic magazines, my students will have the opportunity to read up to date informational text that will create an engaging, collaborative environment where students will learn and grow their minds. I hope my students will appreciate the short articles for independent reading as well as engaging whole group and small group lessons!

About my class
