Student comfort increases their potential for learning! My students have special needs (autism). Flexible seating allows them to have some choice in their comfort while venturing into learning literacy and/or math skills. It is my desire that my students fully understand learning targets versus rapidly completing work so they can get up from a traditional chair. My young superheroes need adult superheroes! The impact of bean bag chairs for my students' sensory needs is far reaching. Traditional seating works for some of my students, but not all of them. Options are important when teaching students with autism spectrum disorder. This very well may be a piece of the puzzle that unlocks their learning potential!
