This is my fourth year of teaching. For the past three years, I taught fourth grade and accumulated plenty of resources for my students. This year, I am moving to kindergarten. I would love to start off my first year of kindergarten with plenty of reading and math resources for my students. The resources I have requested will be used in our classroom to help scaffold math and reading instruction. A lot of the math items focus on tens frames. One standard for students, in kindergarten, is to subitize (automatically looking at number of objects and knowing the number without counting the objects). I am hoping the tens frames resources will help my students grasp this skill. My reading resources include alphabet and phonics skills along with some books that include favorite characters for kindergarten; Clifford, Berenstein Bears, and Curious George. I plan to utilize these resources to help students learn their letters, letter sounds, and grasp the basics of reading a book!
